"A RAINBOW APPEARS BRIEFLY,
AT A PERFECT MOMENT IN TIME, WHEN EVERYTHING WORKS
TOGETHER TO CREATE A VISION OF SYMMETRICAL BEAUTY."
The 2003
AHP/HCPRA conference theme is inspired by the rainbow,
the result of a unique natural phenomenon that brings
spontaneous joy to all who catch a glimpse of it.
Rainbows are rare, except in Niagara Falls, where
they are often sited by delighted visitors.
The theme
is meant to remind people that each of us, like a
rainbow, is a unique and special individual, and that
some of the most enlightening moments come when it
seems like everything is raining down upon us.
Successful
fundraising and communication are about
- Finding common ground and
working with others, just as the arcs of the rainbow
bend gracefully
together from their common centre
- Respecting different viewpoints
just as two people, who do not, and cannot see exactly
the same rainbow, can stand together and each benefit
from their own experience
- Developing perfect chemistry
to create exciting new results, as rain and sunshine
combine together to form a unique rainbow
- Knowing when to reach for
the rainbow that may lead to the pot of gold!
The pot of
gold at the Reach for a Rainbow Conference may be
. . . enhanced knowledge . . . practical learning
. . . expanded network . . . new friendships . . .
time away to reflect.
