A professional designation from a recognized certification board is increasingly important to many organizations recruiting fundraising and development personnel. The most recognized professional designation for fundraisers in the world is the Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) designation. If you are employed and have been working in the field of fundraising, resource development and management for five years or more, then you should seriously consider pursuing the accreditation process.

In order to write the exam, applications must be submitted to the CFRE Professional Certification Board postmarked before the April 14, 2003, deadline. The fee is $350 (U.S.) for AHP members and $450 (U.S.) for non-members. Applications are available from:
