Chair's Message

The 2003 Conference, set in one of Canada’s most popular attractions, Niagara Falls, promises to be nothing short of electric. Energy-filled education sessions, powerful networking opportunities and fabulous accommodations all contribute to making this conference a must-attend event. True to our rainbow theme, this is the chance for fundraisers and communicators coast-to-coast to show their true colours, bringing and learning insights from all spectrums.

The conference presents sessions within various themed tracks: Annual Fund; Governance, Finance and Administration; Major, Capital and Planned Giving;
and Public Relations and Marketing, all of which are designed to provide a well-rounded approach to professional development. The Leadership Forum
offers an in-depth look at creating a culture of stewardship and funding sources for operations in an era of designated gifts. As well, what would a conference
be without those special extras? This year, back by popular demand is the HCPRA — PR Spa, the AHP — Train the Trainer and Primer sessions.

This past year our industry has come under fire from the media, as they, acting as conduits to our communities, have questioned the principles and practices of
Canadian charities and those of us in leadership capacities. Now more than ever, I would encourage everyone to make the most out of the personal and professional development opportunities this conference presents as together we champion our profession and best exemplify our code of ethics.

I look forward to seeing all of you in June. I’ll meet you at the pot of gold…over the rainbow.

Until then,

Debbie McGarry, CFRE
