TRACK DEAN:
Nancy Hewat, FAHP, Executive Director, Grand River Hospital Foundation

SUNDAY, JUNE 6
10:00 am - 5:00 pm (a day-long open format forum)

LEADERSHIP FORUM:
Fostering Good Leadership in Today’s Fundraising Environment
The forum will focus on the topic, Fostering Good Leadership in Today’s
Fundraising Environment. The daylong session is limited to 36 senior level
health care development professionals with at least 10 years experience in
fundraising and five years at the executive level. There will be break-out
sessions with small group participation on each day. The goal will be to
gain enough knowledge from the topic to develop something in writing
to share with AHP colleagues and volunteers.

Facilitator: Marnie Spears
President & CEO, Ketchum Canada Inc.

MONDAY, JUNE 7
8:30 - 10:00 am (3 advanced sessions open to all)

    1. SECURING MUNICIPAL SUPPORT FOR YOUR HOSPITAL FOUNDATION
One of the key stakeholders for any health centre is the local municipality. Having excellent quality care close to home is a key issue for many communities. Part of protecting the quality of care is the financial resources Foundations raise for various projects. Municipalities have become major funding partners in this goal. The session will be an interactive group discussion with attendees sharing strategies that have
worked to secure municipal funding in their communities. The session will also cover some pitfalls one can experience during a lengthy municipal solicitation.

    2. EMERGING TRENDS IN DONOR RELATIONS
From online giving to privacy issues, from accountability to stewardship
of high-end donors, this session will examine the signficant trends in
    donor relations and stewardship today.

Terry Burton, author of the online publication, The Stewardship Report
and the books Stewardship in a Nanosecond Society, and Emerging Trends in
Stewardship and Strategies.

MONDAY, JUNE 7
1:40 - 2:50 pm
    3. WHAT’S HOT, WHAT’S NOT
Join in a roundtable setting to share your thoughts on issues at hand and what might arise in the near future. Be prepared to share your experience in matters of concern and brainstorm strategies around the issues. This is a practical, problem-solving workshop that would be of particular interest to foundation leaders and those with experience and expertise in specific fundraising areas.
