Dr. Stan Kutcher

Dr. Ivar Mendez

Drs. Kutcher and Mendez
are breaking new ground in the fascinating field of brain repair. Their story is about
potential — the potential to change lives and the potential to add a new dimension
to the local economy. From Kathmandu to Dubai and from Boston to Barcelona,
these internationally-renowned researchers are sharing with colleagues around the
world their findings and their plans to establish Halifax as a global centre for
innovation in neuroscience. Don’t miss this wonderful opportunity to hear their
remarkable story.

Dare to Dream!
You will learn about the dream that led to a unique model of partnership,
a twist on public / private partnership, where a small community hospital
developed a mutually beneficial relationship with a multi-national corporation.
A daring vision and a strong passion to make a difference in the lives of their
patients led to innovative solutions and added value well beyond the traditional
vendor relationship. ‘Out of the box’ thinking has turned a very ordinary
hospital into a leading edge facility and has created an equipment procurement
model that is being marketed world-wide.
