Supported by contributions from
our members and supporters, the Annual Fund is more than just
another fundraiser.
Donations help fund professional education, the development
of core curriculum, the Canadian Report on Giving, scholarships
and other initiatives that benefit us all as professionals.
The educational and professional goals of AHP serve our membership
well, but none of it would happen without the commitment and
support of our donors.

Your support of the Annual Fund makes the following possible:
Core Curriculum (Self-Study Guides)
Over 50 Self-Study Guides are available to you from AHP, designed to help you brush up on your fund raising skills, help officers prepare for AHP certification programs and reinforce information you may already know. The cost is $25.00 (U.S. Funds only) each for AHP members and $45.00 (U.S. Funds only) each for non-members. For more information, visit www.ahp.org or send an email to ahp@ahp.org.
Canada Report on Giving
Published biannually, this report provides detailed information
on giving to health care institutions and is useful for projecting
philanthropic trends, assessing departmental characteristics,
and comparing levels of giving by institution type, bed size,
population of service area, and age of development program.
Scholarship Program
The Hospital Education and Development Fund of Canada has
designated funds for the sole purpose of providing scholarship
assistance to members of AHP Canada.
- 1 bursary to the AHP International Conference
- 1 bursary to the AHP Institute for Healthcare Philanthropy
- 2 bursaries to the AHP Canada Regional Conference
- The Gordon H. Durnan Fellowship Award, provides scholarships
to AHP Canada members pursuing studies in health care resource
development of health care related fields. Awards are given
for study at AHP's Institute of Healthcare Philanthropy and
for University study at the Baccalaureate, Masters and Doctoral
level. Study must be in a field related to the practice of
resource development and/or the promotion and understanding
of philanthropy as practiced in Canada.
Resource information Centre (RIC)
The AHP Resource Information Centre (RIC) collects and distributes information on a wide range of topics in health care philanthropy as a free service to its members. Some of the information that can be found in the RIC includes frequently asked questions and answers, useful links, sample policies and job descriptions.
In efforts to provide better service to you, the RIC needs your suggestions, samples and feedback. If you would like to see Canadian specific packets of information, let the RIC know what type of information you would most benefit from. Please contact Becky Russell at the Resource Information Centre.
